Job Opportunity: Registered Nurse - Palliative Care

Location: Wausau, Wisconsin

Contract Details

• Length: 13 weeks
• Start Date: ASAP
• Guaranteed Hours: 36 hours per week
• Shift: 12-hour variable shifts (days and nights)
• Weekend/Holiday Rotation: Every other weekend and holiday rotation
• Float Requirements: May float to any inpatient unit and other Central region locations as needed
• On Call/Call Back: Not applicable, but travelers may be put on call during low census hours with call back pay if called in

Unit Information

• 10-bed unit
• Staffing ratio: 2 RNs and 1 CNA per 10 patients (5:1 RN to patient ratio)

Required Qualifications

• License: Wisconsin Registered Nurse (WI RN)
• Certifications: AHA Basic Life Support (BLS)
• Experience:

  • Minimum 2 years of Medical-Surgical experience (required)
  • Minimum 1 year of inpatient Palliative Care experience (preferred)
• Charting: Epic electronic health record experience required
• Skills: Medical-Surgical skill set required; experience in Palliative Care/Hospice is helpful
• Other: Must be resilient, able to manage change well, and socially adept

Additional Information

• Must be located outside a 50-mile radius from the facility (Radius Rule)
• Scrub colors: Any color
• Contract eligible for 36 hours of low census unbillable hours per week

This position is ideal for RNs with solid Med/Surg experience looking to work in a Palliative Care setting on a travel contract.
