Occupational Therapist Travel Position

Location: Duluth, Minnesota
Employment Type: Travel

Job Overview

• Work on a locked acute inpatient mental health unit (~25 beds)
• Provide occupational therapy in both group and individual settings, with flexibility based on candidate skill and comfort
• Opportunity to float into traditional acute care if volumes drop (not anticipated)
• Shift: 8-hour day shifts (8:00 AM - 4:30 PM)
• Guaranteed 40 hours per week (except during holidays when unit is closed)
• No weekend or holiday shift requirements
• Radius Rule: Must live outside a 50-mile radius from the facility

Contract Length

• 13 weeks

Required Qualifications

• Licensed Occupational Therapist in the state of Minnesota
• BLS certification
• OT degree from an accredited program
• Minimum 2 years of experience, with some experience in an acute mental health setting preferred
• Previous experience working with mental health/behavioral health patient population preferred
• EPIC charting experience preferred

Desired Skills

• Flexible, adaptable, efficient, and confident in a specialized mental health/behavioral health environment
• Ability to conduct evaluations, provide treatment, and engage with multidisciplinary teams for care planning

Additional Information

• Primary location: Behavioral Health unit at the hospital campus
• Scrub color: Black
• During flu season, travelers declining flu and COVID vaccinations must wear a mask at all times per facility policy
• Low census eligibility: 36 hours per week
• Orientation week hours are not guaranteed
