Respiratory Therapist - Phoenix, Arizona
Employment Type: Long Term
Location: Phoenix, AZ (assignment floats between three campuses)
- Main Campus
- Avondale Campus
- Arrowhead Campus
Shift: 1800 - 0630, every other weekend required
Orientation/Training: Held at Main Campus
Job Summary
- Provide respiratory care including routine and complex procedures using various techniques and equipment.
- Ensure care meets quality standards set by hospital, department, and regulatory agencies.
- Maintain skills and knowledge to provide safe, effective, and developmentally appropriate care for patients from neonate to adolescent.
- Participate in quality improvement initiatives.
Education Requirements
- Successful completion of an accredited Respiratory Therapist Program.
Experience Requirements
- Minimum 2 years as a licensed respiratory therapist.
- Minimum 2 years pediatric critical care experience (Critical Care and Emergency/Trauma strongly preferred).
- Level III or IV NICU experience strongly preferred.
Certification/License Requirements
- Current, active, permanent State of Arizona Respiratory Care Practitioner license or current temporary license in hand (no in-process or willingness to obtain after offer).
- Current Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) credential from NBRC.
- Current BLS certification for Healthcare Provider (American Heart Association).
- Current PALS certification (American Heart Association).
- NRP and AARC membership preferred.
Additional Information
- COVID-19 vaccination recommended but not required.
- Flu vaccination required October through April; exemptions must be approved prior to starting.
- Unvaccinated individuals for Flu or COVID-19 must sign declination and masking agreements and mask during respiratory virus season.
