NICU Respiratory Therapist

Location: Grand Forks, North Dakota
Employment Type: Long Term
Contract Length: 11 weeks

Job Summary

• Perform and document patient evaluations and assessments in the NICU.
• Provide diagnostic and therapeutic respiratory treatments and assist physicians.
• Deliver patient education, family teaching, and support tailored to patient and family needs.
• Identify and respond to significant changes in patient condition; communicate and document accordingly.
• Conduct pain assessments and take appropriate actions per standard procedures.
• Complete all required documentation including order entry, EMR, medication charting, safety reports, and equipment maintenance records.
• Manage respiratory equipment maintenance, cleaning, and repairs; ensure proper tagging and notification for service.
• Transport infants to and from referral health systems, providing high-quality critical care.
• Perform additional duties as needed to support department and organizational needs.

Required Qualifications

• Licensed Respiratory Therapist in North Dakota (prior to start).
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification (prior to start).
• Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certification (prior to start).
• Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) certification (prior to start).
• Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP) certification (prior to start).

Shift

• Night shift (NOC)

Experience
