RN Intensive Care Unit Float Pool

Location: Elizabethtown, Kentucky

Schedule: 3x12 hour shifts, 7p-7a, weekend and holiday rotation (12 hours per day, 36 hours per week)

Contract Length: 13 weeks

Role Overview

This is a Float Pool RN position. Nurses float between ICU, Telemetry, Med/Surg, and PCU, so candidates must be comfortable moving across these units and caring for patients of varying acuity.

Responsibilities

• Perform and document comprehensive patient assessments, develop problem lists, and implement individualized plans of care
• Administer and document patient care therapies and procedures, and respond to changes in patient condition
• Provide patient and family education, and coordinate discharges with Case Management
• Conduct hourly patient rounding and bedside shift report
• Delegate and oversee team members' patient care activities
• Participate in unit quality improvement activities, including patient satisfaction, falls, pressure ulcers, CAUTIs, and documentation audits

Required Qualifications

• Valid RN license in Kentucky
• 1 year of PCU (Progressive Care Unit) experience, with PCU experience within the last year
• ICU (Intensive Care Unit) experience
• Telemetry experience
• BLS issued by the American Heart Association
• Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) / Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN)
