Registered Nurse (RN) ICU - Neurology

Location: Oklahoma City, Oklahoma
Contract Length: 13 weeks
Shift: 12-hour shifts, 36 hours per week

Job Summary

Provide nursing care under general supervision to patients with a range of health problems from simple to complex in an ICU Neurology setting. Responsibilities include patient assessment, medication administration, monitoring physiological data, assisting physicians, and coordinating care with patients and families.

Essential Responsibilities

• Manage an assigned group of patients.
• Document patient responses to nursing interventions and medical treatments.
• Assist physicians with examinations and minor diagnostic procedures.
• Monitor and intervene based on patients’ physiological data.
• Administer medications, intravenous infusions, and blood products.
• Communicate care plans to patients and families, including discharge instructions.
• Delegate tasks to support staff as appropriate.

Required Qualifications

Education

• Associate of Science in Nursing or Associate Degree in Nursing from an accredited program.

Experience

• Minimum 1 year of Neuro ICU experience within the last year.
• Experience working with Level 1 Trauma patients.

Licensure & Certifications

• Valid RN license issued by the Oklahoma State Board of Nursing.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification issued by the American Heart Association.
• Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certification.
• NIH Stroke Scale (NIHSS) certification.

Preferred Qualifications

• Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) or higher from a board-approved program.
• NIH Stroke Scale (NIHSS) certification is a plus.

Additional Information

• Must have experience in level 1 trauma and neurology care.
• Ability to maintain good working relationships with other healthcare team members.
