Registered Nurse - Endoscopy

Location: Golden, Colorado
Contract Length: 13 weeks
Shift: Day shift, 9 hours per day (36 hours per week)

Job Summary

The Registered Nurse is responsible for the nursing care and safety of patients undergoing endoscopic and/or invasive procedures, with or without sedation. The role requires critical thinking, interpersonal skills, and efficiency. The nurse serves as a resource to students and new caregivers and participates in quality improvement processes.

Key Responsibilities

• Collaborate with Pre-operative RN to assess patient needs and procedure requirements; perform ongoing assessments and document changes.
• Develop, implement, and communicate individualized plans of care to achieve patient goals.
• Respond to patient comfort needs and provide health information to patients and families.
• Apply aseptic techniques and monitor compliance within the surgical team, initiating corrective actions as needed.
• Support, educate, and reassure patients and families.
• Utilize evidence-based research to guide practice and improve patient outcomes.
• Evaluate nursing care quality and participate in activities to improve patient care and the healthcare environment.
• Document equipment use and assist with inventory management.
• May float to other perioperative or nursing units as needed within competency scope.
• May be required to be on-call during scheduled shifts.

Required Qualifications

• Valid Registered Nurse license in Colorado.
• Minimum of 1 year of endoscopy experience, including experience within the last year.
• BLS certification issued by the American Heart Association.
• ACLS certification issued by the American Heart Association.
• Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) from an accredited institution.
