Physical Therapy Assistant - Contract Position

Location: Bethel, Alaska
Employment Type: Contract
Contract Length: 26 weeks (approximately 6 months)
Shift: Days, Monday to Friday, 8:00 AM – 5:00 PM
Hours per Week: 32 hours

Job Summary

• Assist in directing, modifying, and administering physical therapy treatments under the supervision of a Physical Therapist.
• Administer treatments and physical agents as directed after patient evaluation by the Physical Therapist.
• Help restore patient functioning to prevent disability following injury, disease, or physical disability.
• Support patients in reaching their maximum performance and functioning within their capabilities.
• Participate in departmental operations, performance improvement activities, infection control, equipment training, organizational training, and fire safety programs.
• Patient population includes infants, pediatrics, adolescents, adults, and geriatrics.

Required Qualifications

• Valid Physical Therapy Assistant license in Alaska.
• Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
• 2-year degree covering anatomy, physiology, biomechanics, kinesiology, and clinical pathology

Experience

• Experience preferred but not required.
• No prior travel experience required.

Additional Information

• Orientation starts on a Tuesday; guaranteed hours may not apply during the first week if 40 hours/week is expected.
• This role involves working with a diverse patient age range from infants to geriatrics.
