Job Opportunity: Labor and Delivery Nurse

Location: Pella, Iowa

Contract Length: 12 weeks

Job Summary

• Collaborate with the healthcare team using evidence-based practice.
• Demonstrate accountability, respect for patients, families, and coworkers.
• Provide safe and optimal patient outcomes.
• Promote continuity of care through effective communication with interdisciplinary team and family.
• Direct support staff in the provision of care.
• Perform general nursing duties using critical thinking skills with minimal supervision.
• Work with age-specific populations according to the setting.

Required Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited RN program; BSN preferred.
• Current RN licensure in the State of Iowa, in good standing with the Board of Nursing.
• Current American Heart Association (AHA) Heart Code BLS certification (new employees must certify within 3 months of hire).
• Current ACLS, NRP, and STABLE certifications (new employees should obtain per education policy).
• Ability to read, write, and communicate effectively in English.
• Strong empathetic listening skills, tact, and kindness.
• Effective verbal communication and teamwork skills.
• Basic computer knowledge.
• Technical and critical thinking skills related to sound nursing judgment.
