Registered Nurse - Medical/Surgical

Location: Hilo, Hawaii
Employment Type: Contract
Contract Length: 15 weeks

Job Description

Provide medical/surgical level care for patients aged 18 and over.
May float to surgical, pediatric, or transitional care units.
Work various shift lengths and days; flexibility required.
Scheduled 36 hours per week following the first full week of orientation.
No guarantee of hours or shift preference.
Use of equipment such as Meditech EMR, Pyxis, wound vac, chest tubes, etc.
Professional nursing attire required; no specific scrub colors; closed-toe shoes.
Department-specific training and orientation included in the first week.
Must arrive the Thursday before the start date for an employee health appointment.

Required Qualifications

Active Hawaii RN license required by the start of the assignment.
Minimum 2 years of experience in medical/surgical or higher level of care.
BLS certification required; ACLS preferred.

Additional Information

Day or night shift availability (to be determined).
No holiday requests off (RTO) allowed.
Nurse-to-patient ratio approximately 1:5.
Unit size: 50 beds.
