Physical Therapist - Rehabilitation Therapy

Location: Big Sky, Montana
Employment Type: Contract
Contract Length: 13 weeks

Position Summary

Provide excellent physical therapy services by evaluating patients, establishing and implementing plans of care based on evaluation findings, and providing health and wellness education.

Minimum Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree
• Graduate of an accredited Physical Therapy Program
• Montana Licensure (Physical Therapist)
• American Heart Association BLS required within one month of hire
• Completion of two hours of initial cerebrovascular disease (stroke) education within one year of hire

Preferred:

• Two years of physical therapy experience

Essential Job Functions

• Evaluate physical and functional status of patients and develop appropriate plans of care within the scope of Physical Therapy Practice
• Document evaluations, re-evaluations, progress notes, daily treatments, education, and discharge summaries in compliance with rehab policies
• Educate patients, families, and caregivers on pain management, safety, function improvement, and individualized care plans
• Identify and address patient safety issues for patients, families, and caregivers
• Complete all required education and training as assigned

Schedule Requirements

• Regular and sustained attendance required
• May require working beyond a standard 40-hour workweek, including weekends and after-hours
• On-call work may be required

Physical Requirements

• Repeated lifting up to 50 pounds
• Sitting, standing, and walking for extended periods
• Occasional climbing of stairs or ladders
• Frequent twisting, bending, stooping, kneeling
• Reaching above shoulder level and pushing/pulling repeatedly
• Continuous fine finger movements and close visual acuity
• Continuous cognitive skills for learning, focus, and decision-making

Exposure Risks

• Bloodborne pathogens and bodily fluids
• Radiation in medical imaging areas
• Chemicals, medications, cleaning products, disinfectants
• Infectious diseases from patient contact
• Emotionally challenging situations with patients and families

Additional Information

• Facility may cancel up to three shifts during the 13-week contract due to low census or unforeseen circumstances
• Candidates must live at least 90 miles away from the facility to be considered
