Job Opportunity: Physical Therapist (Rehabilitation Therapy)
Location: Alturas, California
Employment Type: Contract
Contract Length: 13 weeks
Position Summary
- Monday through Friday schedule, no weekends
- Patient load: 8-9 patients per day (1 hour evaluations, 45-minute follow-ups, no double booking)
- Responsible for directing physical therapy services under the Director of Physical Therapy
- Coordinate and supervise department operations
- Administer physical therapy agents as prescribed
- Maintain performance improvement and continuous quality improvement (CQI) activities
- Assist with budgeting, evaluations, and department performance monitoring
- Ensure compliance with all state, federal, and local regulatory laws, standards, and protocols
Qualifications
- Experience: Minimum 3 years of physical therapy experience preferred
- Licensure: Current California licensure or certification as a Physical Therapist required
- Knowledge of physical therapy modalities, anatomy, physiology, disease processes, and rehabilitative medicine
- Knowledge of infection control and sterile techniques
- Current BCLS (Basic Cardiac Life Support) certification required
- Strong interpersonal, problem-solving, written, and oral communication skills
- Ability to collaborate effectively across all organizational levels
- Team player with respect for confidentiality and accountability
Responsibilities

- Develop and evaluate patient teaching plans, including family involvement
- Treat patients and families with respect, addressing psychosocial, cultural, ethnic, and spiritual needs
- Serve as liaison among administration, patients, physicians, and healthcare providers
- Safely operate and maintain equipment; ensure department cleanliness and safety
- Communicate effectively with physicians, staff, and administration
- Coordinate and direct patient care to meet patient needs and hospital policies
