Job Opportunity: RN Flex Pool - Days

Location: Hilo, Hawaii
Employment Type: Contract
Contract Length: 13 weeks

Job Description

Float RN position covering various medical and surgical units including Medical Unit, Laulima Unit (Surgical Acute), and Cardiovascular Unit (rarely)
12-hour day shifts (06:45 AM to 7:15 PM)
Scheduled 36 hours per week after orientation; no guaranteed hours
Equipment used: Meditech EMR, Pyxis, wound vac, chest tubes

Experience & Requirements

Required nursing experience: 2 to 10 years
Licensure: Must have an active Hawaii RN license by the start of assignment (no exceptions for medical or religious exemptions)
Certifications: BLS and ACLS required; preferred certifications include PALS, Procedural Sedation, TNCC, ENPC
Prior travel experience: Not specified / not required

Unit Details & Nurse-to-Patient Ratios

Medical Unit: 77 beds, nurse-to-patient ratio 1:6 (days/evenings), 1:8 (nights)
Laulima Unit (Surgical Acute): 18 beds, nurse-to-patient ratio 1:6
Cardiovascular Unit: 15 beds, nurse-to-patient ratio 1:4
Ratios may vary due to unexpected leaves

Orientation & Additional Information

Orientation provided for each unit
Must arrive the Thursday before start date for employee health appointment on Friday
Professional nursing attire required (clean scrubs)
