Job Details

• Specialty: Telemetry Registered Nurse (Tele RN)

• Contract Length: 13 weeks
• Shift: 12-hour shifts (0700-1930 or 1900-0730)
• Schedule: Scheduled on shifts most in need
• Weekend Requirement: Every other weekend
• Holiday Requirement: Holiday rotation
• Floating: Yes, may float to ICU, Medical-Surgical, or ER within scope; ER boarders included
• Call/Standby: No call or standby requirement for agency staff

Unit Information

• Department: Telemetry
• Beds: 18
• Nurse-to-Patient Ratio: 4-5 patients days, 5-6 patients nights
• Nurse Aides: Yes, ratio depends on acuity (typically 2 CNAs)
• Monitor Tech: Responsible for central telemetry; RNs sign off on strips
• Charge Nurse: Has patient assignment
• Equipment: BiPAP, High Flow oxygen

Required Certifications & Licenses

• Illinois RN License required
• BLS (Basic Life Support)
• ACLS (Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support)
• NIHSS (National Institutes of Health Stroke Scale)
• Phlebotomy certification is a plus

Experience Requirements

• Minimum 2+ years recent experience preferred in:

  • Cath Lab post recovery (femoral/radial)
  • Stroke care (highly preferred)
• Must have drip experience (common drips: Cardizem, Amiodarone, Dopamine, Heparin)
• Meditech experience is a plus
• RNs are not required to titrate drips

Common Patient Diagnoses

• Stroke
• Congestive Heart Failure (CHF)
• Acute Coronary Syndrome (ACS)
• Coronary Artery Disease (CAD)
• Post heart catheterization patients
• Arrhythmias

Orientation

• Department-specific orientation: 2 shifts of 12 hours each

Additional Notes

• Scrub color: Any color allowed
• Prior travel experience is not explicitly required for this assignment

This position is ideal for experienced Telemetry RNs with strong stroke and cath lab recovery skills seeking a 13-week travel assignment in Illinois.
