Nurse-to-Patient Ratio: 1:4
Nurse Aide/Patient Care Tech Ratio: 1:10
Common Diagnoses/Patient Types: Heart failure, Atrial fibrillation, respiratory distress, stroke
Fast-paced unit with frequent admissions and discharges

Certifications Required

BLS (Basic Life Support)
ACLS (Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support)
NIHSS (National Institutes of Health Stroke Scale)

Experience Requirements

Specialty: PCU RN (Progressive Care Unit)

Clinical Responsibilities

Weekend Requirement: Every other weekend
Holiday Requirement: 1 major and 1 minor holiday
Charge Nurse: Present on each shift and takes a full patient assignment

Positive attitude, teamwork, and patient-centered care are important attributes for success
Fingernail policy: Artificial nails prohibited in all patient care areas; refusal to comply results in termination
Radius Rule: Candidates must live within 50 miles and cannot have worked full-time, part-time, or PRN within the past year at any facility associated with CommonSpirit (including CHI and Dignity)
Driver’s license required at submission to verify distance compliance
