Department Details

• 7 procedure rooms total (4 Cath Lab/EP & 3 IR/Vascular)
• Average 20+ cases per day across all rooms

Common Procedures and Patient Types

• IR: Port placements, liver biopsy, IVC placements, G-tube placements, PICC & Central line placements, Neuro cases (coiling, thrombectomy, embolizations) with anesthesia support
• Vascular: Femoral-popliteal bypass, AAA repair, carotid procedures, EVAR, angiograms, and more

Job Duties

• Prepare procedure suites and ensure radiation safety setup
• Calibrate and troubleshoot fluoroscopy and hemodynamic monitoring equipment
• Pull supplies, set up sterile tables
• Scrub in and assist physicians with procedures including device exchange, guidewire manipulation, catheter placement, balloon and stent deployment
• Manage radiation dose and imaging angles
• Clean, restock, and turnover rooms
• Sheath removals

Experience Required

• Minimum 2 years of IR experience
• Specific experience may vary depending on assignment location

Staffing and Team Structure

• Cath Lab: 1 RN, 3 Techs
• EP: 3-4 person team (varies)
• IR: 1 RN, 2 Techs, anesthesia supports neuro cases
• STEMI Call Team: 1 RN, 3 Techs
• 2 team leads manage scheduling and staffing

Shifts & Scheduling

• Typically 4 ten-hour days per week (7:00 AM - 5:30 PM) plus call
• Rotating day off
• May consider 5 eight-hour days (7:00 AM - 3:30 PM)
• Call shifts: 9:00 AM - 5:30 PM when on call

Call Requirements

• Weeknight and weekend call rotation
• Approximately once every 3 weekdays and once every 3 weekends (Friday through Monday)
• Holiday call may be required
• Call response time: 30 minutes

Additional Information

• Hybrid floating for vascular cases
• Scrubs provided; own scrub caps allowed
• Orientation: 2-3 full days of training/shadowing with buddy call; no call first week, second week on call with buddy, then solo
• Clinicians must clock in/out at the facility
• Previous employment with the facility requires a minimum 6-month gap before reapplying

This position is suited for experienced IR/Vascular Techs comfortable with a fast-paced environment, multiple procedure types, and call responsibilities.
