Cath Lab Tech Opportunity - Omaha, Nebraska

Position Details

  • Specialty: Cath Lab Tech / IR Tech
  • Location: Omaha, Nebraska
  • Contract Length: 16 weeks
  • Shifts: 4 days per week, 0700-1730
  • Call Requirements:
    • Minimum 10 weeknight call shifts
    • Minimum 2 weekends (1 IR and 1 Cardiac)
    • Holiday call required
    • Call response time: 30 minutes from primary campus, ASAP for other campuses
  • Floating: Required daily and on-call as needed, covering three campuses
  • Orientation: 1 week unit/department-specific orientation including on-call buddy call

Certifications & Experience

  • Required: RCIS, ACLS (AHA), BLS (AHA)
  • Must have hospital-setting Cardiac Cath/IR experience of more than 3 years
  • Driver’s license required and used to verify candidate is within 50 miles radius

Work Environment & Equipment

  • Department has 3 Cath Lab suites/labs
  • Average 4-5 cases per day
  • Common patient diagnoses: Compression fractures, venous access, hydronephrosis, chest pain, pulmonary hypertension, shortness of breath, gastric ulcer, pulmonary embolism, deep vein thrombosis
  • Job duties include intra-procedural circulating, supplies/medication administration, sedation
  • EMR systems: EPIC and Apollo cardiac charting
  • Cardiologist hours: 0700-1600 M-F; on-call 1600-0700 weekdays and 0730-0730 weekends
  • Supervisor present on each shift who approves scheduling
  • Scrub color/dress code: Surgical greens

Additional Requirements & Notes

  • Radiation badge provided by client
  • Candidates may not currently be employed full time, part time, or PRN with any facility associated with CommonSpirit (including CHI and Dignity)
  • Fingernail policy: Artificial nails prohibited in all patient care areas; refusal to comply may result in contract termination
  • Radius rule: Must live within 50 miles of the facility
  • Call team covers three campuses after hours and weekends; expected to live centrally located for a 30-minute response time to primary campus
  • Ready to onboard within 7 days of contract start (RTO required upfront)
  • Versatile lab primarily performing IR with cardiac inpatient add-ons, prepared for STEMIs and stabilization procedures such as IABP

This role is ideal for experienced Cath Lab Techs seeking a dynamic, multi-campus position with a strong emphasis on call coverage and flexibility.
