Radiation Therapist Job Opportunity

Location: Jackson, Mississippi
Contract Length: 13 weeks

Job Details

• Shift: Typically Monday through Friday, hours generally 7:00 AM to 4:30 PM, but may vary depending on patient volume.
• Call Requirements:

  • Therapists take call evenings and weekends.
  • Two therapists cover call every weekend, usually for two consecutive weeks on a rotation.
  • Call coverage includes major holidays, rotated annually for fairness.
• Patient Volume: Approximately 50 patients per day.

Equipment Used

• Varian Edge with HyperSight and Identify
• Varian Ethos with Vision RT
• Siemens Go Open Pro Simulator
• Record and Verify System: Aria

Required Qualifications

• Valid Radiation Therapist license in Mississippi
• Certified Radiation Therapist (ARRT) (T)
• Minimum of 2 years of Radiation Therapist experience, including experience within the last year
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification issued by the American Heart Association
• Flu vaccine required by November 15 (medical exemptions allowed with documented evidence)
• Fingerprint background check required (remote process takes 10 days; in-person available locally prior to start)

Additional Information

• Position is located on the main campus in the basement near the emergency department.
• Local candidates within a 50-mile radius may be accepted at a reduced rate.
