Job Opportunity: Anesthesia Technician
Location: Boise, Idaho
Contract Length: 13 weeks
Required Certifications
- BLS Certification
- Certified Anesthesia Technician (Cer.A.T.) via ASATT or Certified Anesthesia Technologist (Cer.A.T.T.) Certificate via ASATT
Experience Requirements
- Minimum 1 year of experience in anesthesia technology (higher value found)
- Pediatric experience preferred
- Experience with GE anesthesia machines and Mindray preferred
- First-time travelers are welcome (prior travel experience NOT required)
Unit & Work Environment
- Department: Anesthesia Tech - Surgery Department
- Supports 38 rooms including Main OR, CVOR, CCL, L&D, Endo, EP lab suites, MRI, CT, US, X-Ray, and Nuclear Medicine rooms
- Staff of 8 employees covering 38 rooms
- Anesthesiologists and CRNAs available in-house 24/7
- Pediatric trauma program available
- Urgent cases handled in Main and CVOR with 30-minute response time
Duties & Responsibilities
- Cleaning and setting up anesthesia machines
- Performing anesthesia machine checks
- Inventory management of anesthesia machines, Omnicells, and supply cabinets
- Restocking and moving supplies as needed
- Assisting with setup for arterial lines (IV start not performed)
- Responding to codes including OB Stat, Anesthesia Stat, Trauma, and Stroke Alerts
Scheduling & Shifts
- 8-hour day/evening shifts with variable days
- ORs staffed 24/7 with opportunity for overtime
- Sunday work required as per set schedule
- Holiday work required unless approved time off granted
- Call offered but not required (30-minute response time)
- Rare floating within department; occasional float to Meridian and Nampa ORs possible
Additional Information
- Scrubs and locker provided; travelers must bring own OR shoes and may wear their own caps
- Orientation includes 3 shifts in the department
- Supportive and welcoming environment seeking flexible travelers with a positive attitude
- Tech supervisor and surgical services director available for support
- No telemetry or monitor tech duties required
This position is ideal for anesthesia technicians with at least 1 year of experience, who hold the required certifications, and are comfortable working in a busy surgical environment with a variety of cases including pediatrics and trauma.

L&D Unit is Traveler friendly for CST roll as well as RN roll. Work load is very manageable. Great staff support.
