Physical Therapist (PT) - Arizona, Yuma

Job Summary

  • Responsible for evaluation, planning, administration, and supervision of Physical Therapy treatment.
  • Provide treatment according to physician referral, state and national standards, regulatory agencies, and departmental policies.
  • Demonstrate clinical competence and knowledge appropriate to patient age groups served.

Core Responsibilities

  • Evaluate patients' functional abilities and limitations; establish and implement individualized treatment plans.
  • Collaborate with patients, families, and interdisciplinary teams to set measurable, functional treatment goals.
  • Document treatment and patient progress according to professional and regulatory guidelines.
  • Communicate patient information clearly and timely with physicians, nurses, patients, families, and care teams.
  • Adapt to caseload, scheduling, and staffing needs; assist in other patient care areas as needed.
  • Supervise and delegate tasks to PTAs, ATCs, Therapy Technicians, and students in compliance with policies.
  • Participate in training, orientation, and competency assurance of personnel.
  • Engage in department meetings, process improvement, and meet productivity standards.
  • Interact with various healthcare staff and external contacts regarding patient care.

Setting & Caseload

  • Acute Inpatient setting covering Emergency Department and Medical-Surgical units.
  • Caseload of 8-10 patients per day.
  • Case types include total joints, CVA (stroke), CHF, COPD, and sepsis.

Schedule

  • 5 days per week, 8-hour shifts with flexible weekend coverage 2-3 days/month, or
  • 4 days per week, 10-hour shifts (Sun-Wed or Wed-Sat).
  • Holiday rotation required.
  • No self-scheduling.
  • Scrub color: Royal Blue.

Required Qualifications

  • Graduate of an APTA accredited Physical Therapy program or equivalent.
  • Current, active Physical Therapy license in Arizona.
  • BLS (Basic Life Support) certification.
  • Minimum of 1 year of experience beyond clinicals, with understanding of pathology, lab values, and interdisciplinary communication.

Contract Length

  • Approximately 26 weeks (about 6 months).

Additional Notes

  • Start dates are fixed and not flexible.
  • Must comply with a 100-mile radius rule.
  • No more than 5 days of return-to-office (RTO) required.
  • PTAs are part of the team for support.
