Required Qualifications

• BLS
• NIHSS
• 2 years of MS, PCU, ICU experience
• Experience in the setting within the last 1 year
• Drip experience
• RN must be open to learning vents
• Must note if the clinician has ever worked for Marshfield; if previously worked there, they must have an end date 6 months prior to submission date

Preferred

• Home trach vents experience

Unit Details

• Neuro-focused patient population, including strokes, seizure, guillain Barre, Myasthenia gravis, spinal injuries, thrombectomies, TNK/TPA 24 hours post, endovascular, AMS, and dementia
• Trauma ortho injuries, including hematomas and bleeds, falls on thinners, farm and MVA accidents
• Trachs and vents experience is key on this unit
• RT equipment includes vents, trachs, Cpap, Bipap, Vapo therm, and Etco2
• Central monitor located in a different area
• Nurse-to-patient ratios: Days 1:4-5; Nights 1:5-6, dependent on acuity
• Charge nurse takes an assignment
• Nurse aides on the unit: Days 1:9; Nights 1:12
• Self-scheduling with manager balancing
• 12-hour shifts: 7a-7:30p and 7p-7:30a
• Every other Friday, Saturday, and Sunday required
• Typically 2 of 3 holidays for winter, and otherwise every other
• No call
• Floating to sister MS units, including mixed care, cardiac, general, MS ortho, and heme/onc
• Any solid color scrubs
• Orientation includes 1 shift of General and 1 shift with a preceptor
• Open to first time travelers
