- 12-hour nights
- 36 hours per week
- Every other weekend
- Every other holiday
Unit Overview
- Neuro Med-Surg Acute unit
- 54 beds
- Typical patient population includes stroke, spine surgery, seizure, brain tumor, head injury, neuroscience, and some medical overflow
Required Qualifications
- Active Illinois RN license or confirmation that the application process has been initiated
- BLS certification
- NIHSS certification
- Level 1 trauma experience
- Previous travel experience
- Prior experience working on a dedicated neuro unit
- Experience titrating drips
- Heparin drip experience
Additional Job Details
- Local candidates within 50 miles are accepted
- Floating is required
- No call or standby requirement
- House-wide telemetry is used, so nurses do not need to read strips
- High-flow support may be used for stable COVID cases
- Orientation is 2 days
- Tattoos must be covered while on duty
- Piercings are limited to ears only
