• Start times may vary: 7a, 9a, 11a, 1p, 3p, or 7p

Schedule

• Every other weekend
• Some holidays required

Required Qualifications

• Active driver’s license at time of submittal
• 1 year of experience
• Behavioral health experience
• BLS
• ACLS
• NIHSS
• PALS

Preferred Experience

• Existing traveler with 1–2 completed assignments
• Triage experience, if available

Unit Details

• Emergency department with about 66 patients per day
• Patient ratio: 1:4
• Comprehensive stroke center
• STEMI receiving
• No trauma level designation
• Fast track through triage lobby
• 4 designated psych rooms
• In-house security 24/7
• Common patient types include stroke, STEMI, sepsis, chest pain, psychosis, and behavioral health
• Rare pediatric patients are treated and transferred

Clinical Responsibilities / Workflow

• RN draws labs
• RN may perform breathing treatments
• RT is paged as needed and manages respiratory equipment
• Travelers may be used as charge nurse, especially at night
• Floating may occur within the region if needed

Orientation

• One 12-hour shift with an experienced ED RN

Dress Code

• Royal blue scrubs

• Paid parking is required; garage parking is available with daily or monthly options
• Parking is not reimbursed
