- RDMS (Registered Diagnostic Medical Sonographer) certification required
- ARDMS certification
- BLS (Basic Life Support) certification
- RVT (Registered Vascular Technologist) preferred but not required
Job Details
- Perform all general ultrasound exams, paracentesis/thoracentesis biopsies, and vascular exams
- Average of 8-16 scans/studies per day
- Use of Cerner EMR and PACS systems
- Equipment: Phillips EPIQ ultrasound machines
- Department has 3 scanners/rooms
- May occasionally float/cover other areas (not standard)
- Radiation badge provided by employer
Work Schedule
- Shifts: Day or Evening (current opening is Evening shift)
- Evening shift hours: Wednesday to Friday 1:00 p.m. – 11:30 p.m., Saturday 3:00 p.m. – 11:30 p.m.
- Hours per day: 8
- Hours per week: 36
- Weekend requirement: Sometimes
- Holiday schedule: Rotating
- Call/standby required:
- Fridays 11:30 p.m. – 6:30 a.m.
- Every fourth weekend: Saturday 11:30 p.m. – 6:30 a.m. and Sunday 5:00 p.m. – 11:30 p.m.

- Radiologist available in-house
- No requirement to start IVs
- No Registered Radiology Assistants (RRAs) used
- Scrubs are not provided by employer

Traveler friendly, good ratios, great scheduling, decent providers, Uses tiger text to communicate with most doctors. Plenty of hiking activities. Close to Sedona, Flagstaff and Phoenix. 5:1 Med/tele and 3:1 PCU.
Cons
Cost of living is High, roughly $2000-2500 for your own private space. Float between East and West Campus, 25 minutes apart, west will likely be where you spend 75% of your shifts so pick your housing accordingly.
