Registered Nurse — High Acuity Float Pool
Location
- Seattle, Washington
Contract Length
- 13 weeks
Shift
- Nights, 12 hours
- 36 hours per week
Required Qualifications
- Active Washington or Compact RN license
- BLS and ACLS certifications
- 2 years of ICU experience
- Experience with high-acuity care preferred
- Prior floating experience required
- EPIC experience required
Job Responsibilities
- Must be able to titrate drips
- Float pool assignments may include critical care, observation, med surg, general surgery, ortho surgery, short stay surgery, thoracic surgery, neurosurgery, oncology, telemetry, and progressive care
Schedule Requirements
- Self-scheduling
- 3 weekend shifts per schedule
- Holiday coverage required
Clinical Environment
- Nurse-to-patient ratios vary by acuity, typically 1-2 and sometimes 1-3
- Charge nurse and house supervisor do not take assignments
- Nurse aides are usually available
- Respiratory equipment includes vents, high flow, BiPAP, and CPAP
- Telemetry monitoring is present, and RNs read strips
Orientation
- General hospital orientation
- Myles modules
- Cerner validation class
- On-unit orientation with 2 ICU shifts
Dress Code
- Royal Blue scrubs
Parking
- Parking is paid by the traveler; garage parking is available with daily and monthly options
- Transit is also available
