Travel Registered Nurse — Maternal Child

Location

  • Long Beach, California

Contract Length

  • 13 weeks

Schedule

  • 12-hour nights
  • Every other weekend
  • 36 hours per week

Required Qualifications

  • Active California RN license
  • BLS
  • ACLS
  • NRP
  • AWHONN Advanced Fetal Monitoring
  • 2 full years of experience
  • Ability to circulate C-sections

Key Assignment Details

  • Labor & delivery / postpartum unit
  • Floating to postpartum
  • Potential telemetry monitoring on mothers
  • Cerner familiarity is listed in the source
  • First to float

Patient Population / Unit Notes

  • Standard labor, multiples, high-risk pregnancies, vacuum deliveries, and VBACs
  • 8 labor & delivery beds with 6 overflow beds
  • 7 triage beds
  • 40 postpartum beds
  • Approximately 1,800–2,000 births per year

Additional Notes

  • Charge nurse may take a patient assignment
  • No call required
  • Holidays rotate with core staff
  • Scrubs are provided for labor & delivery; navy for mother/baby and postpartum
  • 1–2 shifts of floor-specific orientation with a preceptor
