CT Technologist (Computed Tomography)
Location: Peoria, Illinois
Contract Length: 20 weeks
Job Description
- Perform all types of general CT scanning using GE CT scanners.
- Start IVs as part of patient preparation.
- Work in a fast-paced, high-acuity environment with high patient volumes.
- No floating or coverage of other areas required.
Work Schedule
- 3 shifts per week, 12 hours each (either days 7:00 AM – 7:30 PM or nights 7:00 PM – 7:30 AM).
- Weekend rotation: every 3rd weekend for night shifts (Fri/Sat) or every 4th weekend for day shifts (Sat/Sun).
- Holiday rotation included but no mandatory holiday shifts or call/standby requirements.
Facility & Department
- Large facility with 640 beds.
- CT department operates 5 GE CT scanners.
- Uses Epic EMR and McKesson PACS systems.
- Dress code: Normal scrubs, solid colors or some prints allowed.
Orientation & Training
- 2 weeks of orientation (3 twelve-hour shifts per week) with dedicated trainer before independent work.
- Non-billable orientation hours: 12 hours.
Required Qualifications
- ARRT (CT) certification.
- Illinois Emergency Medical Agency (IEMA) certification.
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
- Experience with GE CT equipment required.
- Level 1 trauma experience preferred.
- Must be experienced and able to function independently in a high-volume, high-acuity setting.
- Must be able to start IVs.
- Active Illinois license or proof of application initiation required.
- Drug-free workplace: negative drug screen required.
Additional Notes
- Local candidates within a 50-mile radius are accepted.
- No call or standby required.
- No floating to other departments.
- No billable hours during orientation.
- Call-off policy allows 12 hours off every 13 weeks without penalty.
Experience Requirements
- Specialty experience: CT Technologist with emphasis on GE equipment and trauma experience.
- Prior travel experience is preferred but not explicitly required.
