LPN/LVN - Rehab

Location: Salem, Virginia

Job Details

• Specialty: LPN/LVN
• Contract Length: 13 weeks
• Unit: Inpatient Rehab
• Number of Beds: 35
• Patient Ratios: 5-7 patients per nurse
• Shift: 12-hour shifts, every other weekend
• Floating Policy: May be floated to other Med Surg departments

Unit & Equipment

• Unit staffing includes unit secretaries and 2-4 techs per census
• Equipment used: Vitals machine, Baxter IV pumps, SCD’s, Bladder scanner
• Documentation system: Meditech

Required Qualifications

• Experience: Minimum 2 years in Med/Surg or PCU (Progressive Care Unit) experience
• Licenses: LPN/LVN License (Virginia)
• Certifications: BLS, IV Therapy Certificate

Preferred Qualifications

• Rehab experience preferred

Skills & Procedures

• Medication administration including IVs, PICC, PEG tube administration
• Bladder scans, Trach care, Tube feeding
• Foley catheter care, Bladder irrigation
• Blood administration

Work Environment

• Dress code: Navy blue or white solid scrubs
• Collaborative multidisciplinary team including Nursing, Physical Therapy, Occupational Therapy, Speech Therapy, Physiatrist, Physician Assistant, and Neuropsychologist
• Focus on patient functional improvements and achieving goals for functional independence
