Job Opportunity: CST/ORT - Travel Position in Richmond, Virginia

Position Details

• Specialty: CST/ORT (Certified Surgical Technologist / Operating Room Technician)
• Location: Richmond, Virginia
• Employment Type: Travel
• Contract Length: 13 weeks

Unit Information

• Unit: Operating Room (OR)
• Number of Beds: 16 Operating Rooms
• Staffing:

  • One team per OR room consisting of RN, Surgical Assistant (SA), and Surgical Tech
  • Day shift fully staffed; evening shift tapers down gradually
  • Call coverage on weekends and nights
• Patient Ratios: 1:1
• Equipment: OR equipment including robotics, neurosurgery, general surgery, plastics, urology, orthopedics
• EMR System: Meditech

Required Skills and Experience

• Must Have:

  • Robotic surgery experience
  • Orthopedic surgery experience
  • Neuro/spine surgery experience
• Years of Experience Required: Minimum 2 years in specialty
• Prior Travel Experience: Not explicitly required

Certifications and Licenses

• Virginia State License
• OR First Assist Certification
• BLS (Basic Life Support)

Work Schedule and Environment

• Shifts:

  • Day shift primarily, with evening tapering teams
  • Night shift is call only
• Call Rotation: Approximately 2 call shifts per week (includes weekday nights and weekend primary and backup)
• Dress Code: Hospital-provided scrubs

Additional Information

• Team player personality preferred
• Typical procedures include all surgeries except transplant and cardiac surgery
• No floating to other areas required
