Position Details

• Shift: Nights (7:00 PM – 7:30 AM)
• Weekly Hours: 36 or 48 (must be specified on submission)
• Weekend Hours: As required, typically every other weekend
• Call Requirements: None
• Number of Openings: 3

Licensure & Certifications

• Current RN license eligible or active in Missouri
• Required Certifications: BLS and ACLS (American Heart Association only)

Experience Requirements

• Minimum 2 years of experience in Stepdown or ICU nursing
• Prior travel experience is not explicitly required

Unit & Patient Information

• Unit Type: Surgical Stepdown
• Number of Beds: 29
• Patient Ratios: 1 nurse to 3-4 patients
• Patient Population: Post-op patients (high acuity surgeries or lower acuity surgical patients needing cardiac drips, BiPAP, etc.), trauma, and high acuity medical patients
• EMR System: EPIC

Required Skills & Experience

• Stepdown or ICU experience
• Post-operative care
• Experience with BiPAP and cardiac drips
• Strong time management and critical thinking skills

Float Requirements

• Nurses may be required to float to any department with acuity equal to or lower than the Stepdown unit

Work Environment & Physical Demands

• Stand and walk most of the shift
• Frequent bending, stooping, lifting, and turning patients with assistance
• Ability to push, pull, grip up to 50 lbs., pinch up to 15 lbs., kneel, crouch, and crawl minimally
• Exposure to blood and body fluids is a high risk
