Position Details

Shift Information

• Shift: Night Shift (6 PM - 6 AM)

Role Purpose

• Administer nursing care to patients efficiently and safely.
• Demonstrate knowledge and skills necessary for patient care across various age groups.
• Assess patient data and interpret information to identify clinical needs.

Essential Role Functions

• Practice within Nursing Standards and follow hospital policies.
• Focus on patient-centered care and teamwork.
• Supervise non-professional staff and assist physicians in patient care.
• Administer medications and document nursing care accurately.
• Participate in educational opportunities and departmental meetings.
• Maintain safety and infection control standards.

Minimum Role Requirements

• Education: Graduate of an accredited nursing school (Associate degree required; Bachelor’s preferred).
• Licensure: Current Colorado RN License (Compact license accepted; must obtain Colorado License within 90 days).
• Certifications:

  • Current BLS Certification
  • Current PALS Certification (within 6 months)
  • Current ACLS Certification (within 6 months)
  • Successful completion of EKG course (within 4 months)
• Experience:

  • ICU: Minimum of 1 year ICU/Inpatient experience preferred.
  • Family Birthing Center: Completion of basic fetal monitoring course and NRP certification within 4 months.

Skills and Abilities

• Effective communication skills in English (additional languages preferred).
• Strong organizational and customer service skills.
• Basic computer knowledge.
• Ability to work in a potentially hazardous environment with exposure to infectious waste and chemicals.

Physical Demands

• Ability to exert up to 100 lbs. of force occasionally and up to 50 lbs. frequently.
• Full range of movements including kneeling, crouching, and reaching.
• Good vision and hearing capabilities for effective patient care.
