Unit Information

• Unit Type: Cardiac Cath Lab
• Number of Beds: 4 rooms
• Current Staff: 8 Full-time (optimal 12 full-time)
• Staffing Requirements:

  • Day Shift: RNs and Techs, 3 staff per room minimum in multiple combinations
  • Night Shift: On-call only, 4-man team always
• Patient Ratios: 1 patient to each team of 3-4
• Equipment Used: GE X-ray equipment, Impella, IABP, Atherectomy, IVUS/OCT, FFR/RFR, etc.
• EMR Systems: Maclab for case charting, Meditech for facility

Hiring Profile

Required Skills

• Must Have:

  • Experience scrubbing cardiac cath cases/STEMI call
  • RT or RCIS certification (ARRT or RCIS) with cath lab experience
  • Ability to scrub cases and monitor cath lab cases

Preferred Skills

• Experience scrubbing Interventional Radiology (IR) and Electrophysiology (EP)
• Maclab monitoring experience

Typical Procedures Performed

• All cath IR (Permcath, fistula), EP (device, ablation, watchman), peripheral angiograms
• Note: No neuro IR

Personality Fit

• Must be adaptable and a team player

Required Certifications

• ACLS
• BLS

Additional Information

• Floating Areas: Other facility cath labs in local area partner hospitals, potentially assisting with turnover, patient transport, etc. in other procedural spaces.
• Dress Code: Provided hospital scrubs
• Call Requirements: Call required with alternating weekends; no call requests should be submitted ahead of the contract. Expected to take about 14-15 days/month on call.
