Job Opportunity: RN - PICU (Pediatric Intensive Care Unit)

Job Summary

Seeking a competent Pediatric ICU Registered Nurse with ventilator experience. The nurse practices independently in a similar clinical setting, providing routine and complex care while managing clinical situations and delegating tasks appropriately.

Responsibilities

Provide nursing care consistent with ANA Scope and Standards of Practice, including assessment, diagnosis, planning, intervention, and evaluation for assigned patients.
Address complex psychological, emotional, cultural, and social needs of patients and families.
Administer medications and treatments per protocol; monitor for side effects and effectiveness.
Document patient history, symptoms, medications, and care provided.
Assess learning needs and provide education to patients, families, and caregivers.
Meet applicable leadership competencies (Leader of Self, Others, or Leaders).

Required Qualifications

Education & Experience

Associate of Science in Nursing / Associate Degree in Nursing required.
Minimum 1 year of recent experience in Pediatric Intensive Care Unit (PICU).
Experience working with pediatric patients.

Licenses & Certifications

Valid RN license in Texas.
Current BLS certification issued by the American Heart Association.
Current ACLS certification issued by the American Heart Association.
Current PALS certification issued by the American Heart Association.

Additional Requirements

New hires must attend New Nurses Orientation within the first 30 days.
New hires will be precepted by a trained staff member and must complete organizational and Pediatric Services-specific competency validations.
Completion of all annual competency verification requirements.

Work Schedule

7:00 AM to 7:00 PM (Day Shift)
