Assignment Details
- Travel nursing assignment in Austin, Texas
- Contract length: 13 weeks
- Shift: 7:00 PM to 7:00 AM
- Hours per week: 36
- No on-call requirement
- Weekends: rotating
Required Qualifications
- Valid RN license in Texas
- Med Surg (1 year of experience)
- Med Surg experience within the last year
- BLS
- Associate of Science in Nursing / Associate Degree in Nursing
Unit Overview
- Medical-surgical orthopedics unit
- 32 beds
- Typical patient ratios: 1:5 to 1:6 on days; 1:6 to 1:7 on nights
- Common equipment includes PCAs, on-Q pumps, Hoyer lift, traction, and wound vacs
- Typical procedures include neurosurgeries, fracture repairs/IM nailing, general surgery, bariatric surgery, bladder sling, and hysterectomy
Preferred Experience
- Meditech charting
- NGT tubes
- IV placement
- Foley management
Work Environment
- Time management skills are crucial
- Upbeat, team-oriented personality
- Navy blue scrubs required
