Overview
- Location: Wichita, Kansas
- Employment type: Travel
- Shift: 7:00 PM - 7:00 AM
- Hours per week: 36
- Contract length: 13 weeks
Unit Details
- Postpartum unit with 29 beds
- Typical patient ratio: 3-4 couplets per RN
- Common equipment includes vitals machines, CPN monitors, and point-of-care glucose monitoring
- Uses Meditech / CPN
Required Qualifications
- Valid RN license in Kansas
- Associate of Science in Nursing / Associate Degree in Nursing
- Post Partum (1 year of experience)
- Post Partum experience within the last year
- Experience in an Acute Care setting
- BLS
- NRP
Preferred Experience
- High-risk postpartum experience
- Level 2 nursery experience
Common Responsibilities
- Point-of-care glucose monitoring
- Breastfeeding support
- Postpartum hemorrhage management
- Assist with circumcision
- Hypertension assessment and management
Work Environment
- Busy postpartum unit with a close-knit team
- Flexible scheduling
- High-risk patients are cared for on this unit, while low-risk patients are separated to a nearby free-standing LDRP unit
