Overview
- Travel RN assignment in Nashville, Tennessee
- Unit: CVICU
- Building: Tower
- 16-bed unit
- 36 hours per week
- Contract length: 13 weeks
Required Qualifications
- Valid RN license in Tennessee
- Associate of Science in Nursing / Associate Degree in Nursing
- BLS
- ACLS
- CVICU (2 years of experience)
- CVICU experience within the last year
- Experience working with Cardiac patients
- Experience working with Post-Operative Open Heart patients
- Experience in a Critical Care setting
- Experience with pulmonary artery (PA) catheters and hemodynamic monitoring
Preferred
- Experience with IABP
- Experience with Impella
- Experience with CRRT
Unit Details
- Patient ratio: 1:2, with 1:1 for certain device patients
- Floating: typically to other ICUs, but may include other floors
- Documentation system: Meditech
- Scheduling: 2 weekends per month, 1 summer holiday, and 2 winter holidays
- Unit care includes immediate post-operative cardiac surgery patients, ECMO, Centrimags, HM3 LVADS, central line insertion, swan insertion, and intubations
- Unit has a free floating charge nurse, unit secretary, Administrative Care Tech Monday–Friday 0730–1530, and Student Nurse Externs on variable shifts
- Intensivist assigned to the unit 24/7
