Assignment Length: 13 weeks
Job Summary
Provide direct patient care in a busy urban Emergency Department (ED) trauma center. Responsibilities include assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation of patient care for all age groups. Coordinate care with ancillary departments and maintain professional accountability consistent with nursing standards and Missouri Nurse Practice Act.
Work Schedule
- Shift: Days, 11:00 AM – 11:00 PM
- Weekly Hours: 36 or 48 (must be specified on submission)
- Weekend hours as required
- No call requirements
- Block schedules are not accommodated
- Holiday time off requests limited to one per assignment

- Trauma Level: Level 1 Trauma Center
- Additional Certifications: Stroke, STEMI, Regional Burn Center
Required Qualifications
- Valid RN license in Missouri
- Minimum 1 year of Emergency Department experience within the last year
- Certifications:
- BLS issued by American Heart Association
- ACLS
- PALS issued by American Heart Association
- TNCC
- NIHSS
- Education: Associate of Science in Nursing / Associate Degree in Nursing
- Valid Driver's License
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with trauma and pediatric patients
- High acuity patient care experience
- Comfortable managing 200+ patients per day
Skills and Abilities
- Strong clinical expertise in emergency nursing
- Effective communication and human relations skills
- Ability to work in a fast-paced, high-acuity environment
- Determined, decisive, and flexible personality fit
Physical and Working Conditions
- Stand and walk most of the shift
- Lift and push patients on stretchers and wheelchairs
- Work primarily in a clean, air-conditioned environment
- Physical demands include pushing, pulling, gripping up to 50 lbs, pinching up to 15 lbs, minimal kneeling, crouching, and crawling
Dress Code
- Scrubs: Black
- Unacceptable attire: Jeans or unprofessional clothing
Additional Notes
- Flu vaccination or approved exemption required from November 1 to April 1; declinations are not accepted
- No float requirements
- Must indicate preferred weekly hours on submission form
- Time off requests must be made on the back end of the assignment, not during the first week
