Registered Nurse – Nurse Navigator
Location: Wausau, Wisconsin
Employment Type: Travel
Contract Length: 13 weeks
Job Overview
- Work as an Oncology Nurse Navigator within Care Coordination.
- Role involves managing oncology patients referred for new consults and triaging for appropriateness and urgency.
- Limited face-to-face patient interaction.
- Primary focus on care coordination, case management, and navigation.
- Charting experience with Epic is required.
Schedule & Hours
- Shift: 8:00 AM – 4:30 PM (8 hours per day)
- Guaranteed 40 hours per week (except during holidays when the unit is closed).
- No weekend or holiday shifts required.
- No float requirements.
- May be placed on call with a minimum 2-hour callback during low census periods.
- Contract includes eligibility for 36 hours of low census unbillable hours.
Required Qualifications
- Valid Registered Nurse (RN) license in Wisconsin
- Minimum 5 years of oncology nursing experience, including experience within the last year
- Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) or Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN)
- Nurse Navigator experience
- BLS certification issued by the American Heart Association or American Red Cross
- Proficiency with Epic electronic health record system
Additional Information
- Must comply with vaccination policy during flu season: travelers who decline flu and COVID vaccines are required to wear a mask at all times. Non-compliance may result in corrective action.
- Business casual attire required.
- Work location within a 50-mile radius rule.
- Orientation week hours may vary and are not guaranteed.
