Medical-Surgical Registered Nurse

Overview

• Travel assignment in Appleton, Wisconsin.
• Clinical Resource Team (CRT) role.
• Based in the Appleton/Neenah locations.
• 13-week contract.
• 12-hour night shifts, starting at 5:30 PM.
• 36 guaranteed hours per week.
• Floating is required across Med/Surg units and may include other facilities as needed.

Required Qualifications

• Valid RN license in Wisconsin.
• Associate of Science in Nursing / Associate Degree in Nursing.
• BLS issued by American Heart Association.
• NIHSS.
• Med Surg (2 years of experience).
• Med Surg experience within the last year.
• One completed travel assignment.
• Experience with Epic.
• Oncology experience.
• Stroke experience.
• Ortho Trauma experience.

Preferred Qualifications

• AHA ACLS.
• 1 prior travel contract.
• Experience with pre-post cath, post pacemaker, and TR Bands.
• Open to pediatric patients, which are rare on this assignment.

Clinical Setting and Scope

• Float to all Medical-Surgical units.
• May also float to all facilities as needed, primarily Appleton and Neenah, with openness to smaller locations.
• Assignment may include cardiac pre/post, heart cath, pacemakers, stroke, post-TNK, neuro surgery, general surgical, oncology, renal, CIWA, CHF, COPD, surgical trauma, ortho, and DKA patients.
• Traveler will only take patients within their skillset.
• Patient ratio is 1:5-6.
• RNs are paired with support staff such as LPN/CNA based on acuity.

Schedule and Work Conditions

• Weekend rotation up to every other weekend; every weekend candidates may be considered.
• Holiday rotation as needed.
• No call or callback requirements.
• Missed shifts must be made up within 2 weeks.
• 8-hour unbillable orientation.
• Scrub color: black.
