Assignment Details

  • Length of Assignment: 13 weeks
  • Start Dates: Every Monday
  • Scrubs Color: Navy Blue
  • Travel: Within 50 mile radius only, no local travelers

Unit Description

  • Unit: 4B Moderate Care Unit (12-bed, 24-hour observation)
  • Patient Population:
    • Low acuity critical care patients awaiting placement in heart/vascular ICUs or stepdown units
    • Patients post same-day procedures requiring extended monitoring before discharge
  • Associated Units: CICU, CVICU, 6E (cardiac stepdown), 8E (vascular stepdown), 4G (CICU stepdown)
  • Care Provided:
    • No ventilators, CRRT, IABP, or Impella devices accepted
    • Accommodates LVADs, 2-4 drips, arterial lines, and PA catheters
  • Environment: Fast-paced with high patient turnover and diverse cardiovascular diagnoses
  • Learning Opportunities:
    • Exposure to a wide variety of cardiovascular procedures and diagnoses
    • Development of organization, critical thinking, and advanced critical care assessment skills

Requirements

  • Must have 18 months experience in telemetry specialty within the past 3 years
  • Georgia or compact nursing license in hand
  • Experience with PA lines required
  • CCRN certification preferred
  • No IABP or Impella experience required
