Schedule

Day shift, 12 hours per day, 36 hours per week

Role Summary

Works as a member of the surgical team to support safe and successful operative procedures. Functions under the supervision of a Registered Nurse and reports to Surgical Services management.

Required Qualifications

• Valid Surgical Technologist license in Colorado
• Surgical Technologist (2 years of experience)
• Surgical Technologist experience within the last year
• BLS issued by American Heart Association
• NBSTSA
• Completion of an Operating Room Technician program, or graduation from a surgical tech program within the past six months, or two years of scrub tech experience in hospital or military surgical services within the last three years

Preferred Qualifications

• Active National Certification as an ORT in Surgery
• Certified Surgical Technologist

• Life support situations related to surgical care
• Supervision within surgical services
• Operating Room Technician (ORT) scope of practice

Key Responsibilities

• Maintain the sterile field and environmental safety
• Prepare the operating room and instruments for surgical procedures
• Assist the surgeon during procedures within ORT scope of practice
• Assist with room turnover, cleaning, and preparation for the next procedure
• May assist with sterile processing
• Identify emergency situations and respond appropriately
