Staff Nurse
Location
Johnson City, New York
Schedule
- Night shift
- 12 hours per day
- 36 hours per week
- 13-week contract
- Every other weekend
Required Qualifications
- Valid RN license in New York
- Cardiac PCU - Progressive Care Unit (6 months of experience)
- Cardiac PCU - Progressive Care Unit experience within the last year
- BLS issued by American Heart Association or American Red Cross
- ACLS issued by American Heart Association
- Associate of Science in Nursing / Associate Degree in Nursing
- Experience with TAVR procedures
- Experience with watchmans procedures
- Experience with mitral clips procedures
- Experience with heart catheterizations
- Experience with preoperative and postoperative open heart care
- Experience with cardiac IV and PO medications
- Experience with cardiac drips at flat rate (cardizem, amiodarone, dobutamine, lidocaine, milrinone, heparin, insulin)
- Experience with anticoagulant management
- Experience with CHF patient care
- Experience with arrhythmias
- Experience with Epic
Preferred Qualifications
- Previous clinical nursing experience in an acute care or ambulatory setting
- Bachelor of Science in Nursing
- Professional certification in a related nursing specialty
- Relevant skills certification such as ACLS, PALS, or TNCC as required by the home unit assigned
Key Responsibilities
- Assess, plan, delegate, coordinate, implement, and evaluate nursing care for a group of patients
- Educate patients and families in health promotion and disease management
- Administer medications safely
- Support productivity, resource use, shared governance, peer review, and unit improvement initiatives
- Participate in professional development, continuing nursing education, and mandatory education
- Integrate nursing research and current evidence into practice
- Support onboarding and learning for new employees and students
