Job Summary

The Radiologic Technologist I is responsible for performing diagnostic radiographic examinations with minimal supervision, ensuring quality imaging and patient care.

Key Responsibilities

• Produce diagnostic radiographic exams by positioning patients and selecting appropriate technical factors.
• Operate radiology equipment and use immobilization devices as needed.
• Restrict radiation exposure to unaffected parts of the patient using cones and collimators.
• Perform portable x-ray exams in patient rooms, operating rooms, and emergency rooms.
• Properly identify and mark patient films with name, x-ray number, and side of the body.
• Develop exposed x-ray films using available processing methods.
• Complete patient requisitions with necessary details (technologist initials, date, film number and size).
• Maintain orderly x-ray room as directed.
• Prepare radiopaque contrast media and assist physicians in administration.
• Perform administrative duties including scheduling, patient instruction, film filing, record maintenance, and patient reception.
• Assist patients with mobility and positioning during exams.
• Lift at least 5 lbs., push/pull at least 10 lbs., and stand for a minimum of 6 hours daily.
• Adapt care to meet the needs of diverse patient populations, including considerations for age, culture, language, and disabilities.
• Adhere to organizational standards and competencies.

Experience Requirements

• No specific years of experience required.
• No prior travel experience required.

Physical Demands

• Ability to lift a minimum of 5 lbs.
• Ability to push and pull a minimum of 10 lbs.
• Ability to stand for at least 6 hours per day.
