Echo Technician - Newton, Massachusetts (LTA Contract)

Position Overview

  • Perform quality and complete echocardiogram studies independently and as part of a team.
  • Maintain integrity, professionalism, and confidentiality.
  • Demonstrate technical skills and sound judgment to function unsupervised.
  • Excellent verbal, written communication, interpersonal, customer service, organizational, and time management skills.
  • Ability to meet deadlines consistently.

Qualifications

  • Completion of an accredited non-invasive cardiovascular training program focused on echocardiography.
  • Completion of a recognized course in arrhythmia detection.
  • Minimum 2 years current experience as a registered echocardiographer.
  • Registered Diagnostic Cardiac Sonographer (RDCS) or Registered Cardiac Sonographer (RCS) certification required.
  • CPR certification (AHA & ARC accepted).

Contract Length

  • 13 weeks

Required Credentials and Compliance (Must be completed prior to or at onboarding)

  • Orientation & Attestation: Facility-specific self-study orientation.
  • Certifications: BLS (AHA, Red Cross, CHSF, or Military accepted; AHA preferred).
  • Licenses: Primary source verification of professional license/certification; MA Conditional Licenses not accepted.
  • Health Requirements:
    • N95 Fit Test within 365 days, updated annually.
    • MMR vaccination or proof of immunity.
    • Influenza vaccine required during flu season (Sept 15 - April 30).
    • TB test (skin test or blood test) within 3 months, updated if >6 month break.
    • Health statement signed by MD/DO/NP/PA within 365 days, updated if >6 month break.
  • Background Checks:
    • Criminal background check within 45 days prior to start, updated if >6 month break.
    • Massachusetts CORI background check within 30 days prior to start, updated if >6 month break.
    • Social Security Number trace.
    • National sex offender registry check within 30 days prior to start, updated annually.
    • Exclusion checks (OIG, GSA, MassHealth, NH Medicaid) within 30 days prior to start and annually.
  • Additional Documentation:
    • Resume including past 7 years of work experience with city & state.
    • Two recent references (minimum one supervisor or above in skillset).
    • Skills checklist.
    • Candidate submission coversheet.
    • Confirmation of assignment/POI form upon acceptance and for extensions.
    • Respirator Medical Clearance attestation (if fit test required).

Preferred/Optional

  • Hepatitis B vaccination or proof of immunity.
  • Tdap vaccine within 10 years.

This position requires thorough credentialing and compliance with health and professional standards prior to starting the assignment.
