Job Description

Seeking a Registered Nurse (RN) specializing in Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU) for a per diem travel assignment.

Required Qualifications

• License: Valid RN license for California.
• Experience: Minimum years of experience not explicitly stated; assume standard NICU RN experience expected.
• Certifications:

  • BLS (American Heart Association or Red Cross)
  • NRP (Neonatal Resuscitation Program) – American Heart Association, Red Cross, or NALS accepted
  • Workplace Violence Prevention training
• Health Requirements:

  • COVID-19 vaccination (2 doses plus booster or completed declination)
  • MMR immunity (proof of 2 vaccines or positive titer)
  • Hepatitis B vaccination (3 doses or titers required)
  • Influenza vaccine or declination (seasonal requirement)
  • TB test within one year of start date
  • Varicella immunity (vaccination or titer)
  • Tdap vaccination (declinations not accepted in some locations)
  • Annual respirator fit test (must be completed prior to start if not available onsite)
  • Physical/Health statement annually, must state clear to work
  • Drug screening: Minimum 10-panel test including THC saliva test (California-specific)
• Background Checks and Verifications:

  • National criminal background check within one year of start date
  • Primary source verification of professional license and certifications within 30 days of start
  • Employment eligibility verification (Form I-9)
  • Excluded Individual search (SAM/EPLS)
• Other Requirements:

  • Driver’s license, State ID, or Passport
  • Completion of sexual harassment prevention training valid for 2 years
  • Completion of core competencies exam and specialty exam (minimum score 80%)
  • Skills checklist and color-blind test (annual)
  • Agency attestation and orientation packet completion
  • Education verification (diploma or transcripts)
  • Resume reflecting accurate and recent work history at time of offer acceptance
  • Two professional references required (one must be from a manager or direct supervisor)
  • Name verification affidavit if discrepancies exist between credentials

• Orientation paperwork is provided on the first scheduled shift.
• All credentials must be uploaded and verified prior to onboarding.
• Declinations for some vaccines may not be accepted depending on location.
• Fit testing must be coordinated and completed before onboarding if not available onsite.
