Job Opportunity: Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant (COTA)
Location: Burbank, California
Employment Type: Travel / Contract
Contract Length: 13 weeks (approximately 3 months)
Shift: 5 days per week, 8-hour day shifts
- May include occasional weekend coverage and floating
Job Description
- Start Date: ASAP (flexible for later starts)
- 36 hours guaranteed per week
- Assignment length between 13 to 26 weeks
- Work primarily in a Skilled Nursing Facility (SNF) setting
Required Qualifications
- Valid Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant license in California
- Minimum 1 year of Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant experience within the last year
Certifications & Compliance Requirements
- ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support) from American Heart Association or American Red Cross
- BLS (Basic Life Support) from American Heart Association or American Red Cross (current and clear copy required)
- PALS (Pediatric Advanced Life Support) preferred
- State license verification (primary source online verification)
- Medication Test/Pharmacology Competency Exam as applicable
- Competency Exam as applicable
Health & Safety Requirements
- Physical exam within 1 year of start date
- Negative TB test (PPD, Quantiferon Gold, or T-spot) within 1 year of start
- Immunization or titer proof for:
- Rubeola (Measles)
- Mumps
- Rubella
- Hepatitis B (titer, declination, or vaccine series)
- Varicella (titer, vaccine, or history of chickenpox)
- 9 Panel Drug Screen within 1 year of start
- Seasonal Flu vaccination or declination during flu season (Oct 1 - Mar 31)
- COVID-19 vaccine fully vaccinated per California state policy (no declinations accepted)
- COVID-19 booster required for all eligible travelers
Additional Requirements
- Government issued photo ID (Driver’s License or State ID)
- Emergency Contact Form prior to start
- Background checks including 7-year search, sex offender registry, EPLS/GSA/SAM, and HHS/OIG (updated annually)
- Annual skills checklist
- Professional references:
- 2 for travel, allied, per diem acute care
- 1 for per diem non-acute care
- Not required for non-clinical roles
