Clinical Lab Scientist - Travel/Contract
Location: Los Angeles, California
Contract Length: 13 weeks
Job Details
- Specialty: Laboratory
- Shift: Day (5x8 hours), 8:00 AM – 5:00 PM
- Hours per week: 40
Required Qualifications
- Valid Clinical Lab Scientist (CLS) license in California
- Minimum 2 years of experience as a Clinical Lab Scientist (CLS)
- Clinical Lab Scientist (CLS) experience within the last year
Health and Safety Requirements
- Physical exam clearance within the past year
- Fit mask testing within 12 months prior to start (acceptable masks: 3M Aura 9205+ or 3M 1860 Small)
- Negative TB test or chest X-ray within 12 months (QGold, Tspot, or 2-step PPD)
- Tdap vaccine within 10 years or declination
- Required immunizations with positive titers (no declinations accepted):
- Rubeola (Measles)
- Mumps
- Rubella
- Varicella
- Hepatitis B: positive titer, 3-vaccine series, or declination with proof of prior vaccination or negative titer
- 9-panel drug screen within 30 days of start
- COVID vaccination plus booster or documented declination
- Seasonal flu vaccine or declination during flu season (September–March)
- Color vision exam (14-plate Ishihara test) required
Competencies and Certifications
- Medication Test/Pharmacology Competency Exam (required for all RNs and Medication Aides; applicable if relevant)
- Competency exams as applicable by profession, meeting or exceeding passing scores
- Additional certifications may be required depending on unit assignment (not applicable for this role unless specified)
Additional Requirements
- Completion of facility-specific orientation checklists within first 30 days, including:
- General orientation
- Unit-specific competency
- CORE competency
- Unit tour
- Required attestations and agreements including:
- De-escalation modules
- Arbitration agreement
- Voluntary meal waiver
- Access request form
- Assault Responsive Competency (ARC) training within 30 days of start (live 4-hour training; cost applies)
References and Documentation
- 2 professional references required for travel, allied, or per diem acute care roles
