X-Ray Tech Travel/Contract Position

Location: Plattsburgh, New York
Contract Length: 16 weeks

Job Details

• Specialty: Radiology / Cardiology
• Shift: 12-hour rotating shifts (Day: 9:00 AM – 9:30 PM; Night: 7:00 PM – 7:30 AM)
• Schedule includes every other weekend
• Total hours per week: 36
• No block schedules allowed
• Workdays: Monday through Sunday

Required Qualifications

• Valid Radiology Technician license in New York
• Minimum 2 years of Radiology Technician experience, including experience within the last year
• X-Ray Technician experience
• Experience with Epic

Certifications & Verifications

• ACLS (AHA approved)
• BLS (AHA approved)
• PALS (AHA approved)
• National Tech Certification verification within 30 days of assignment start
• State license primary source verification within 30 days of start and upon expiration
• Background check within 30 days of start covering all locations lived/worked/schooled in past 7 years, updated annually
• Education verification as required by job
• Medication/Pharmacology competency exam as required
• Color blindness testing required
• Competency exams as required by specialty
• References: 2 professional references from assignments within last 3 years
• Work history verification: 2 years of most recent clinical work history
• Skills checklist within 12 months
• Employment application required

Health & Safety Requirements

• Physical exam within 12 months of start (required for NY facilities)
• N95 Fit Mask test prior to start and annually (acceptable mask types specified)
• Tdap vaccination within 10 years or titer
• Negative TB test (PPD, QGold, or TSPOT) within past 12 months; chest X-ray if positive TB test
• Annual TB questionnaire if positive TB
• Immunizations or positive titers required for:

  • Measles (Rubeola)
  • Mumps
  • Rubella
  • Varicella
• Hepatitis B series and titer or signed declination
• Drug testing within 12 months prior to start (required for NY facilities)
• Seasonal flu vaccination or exemption required during flu season (Oct 1 – Mar 31)
• COVID vaccination or declination required
• Pneumonia vaccination or declination required for NY placements

Compliance & Documentation

• Complete all work history details including bed count, EMR, and facility type
• Explain any employment gaps over 30 days
• Photo for badge (passport style, plain light background, no logos/hats/sunglasses/filters) required no later than 2 weeks prior to start
• Auto insurance proof required and must be valid throughout assignment (if applicable)
• Completion of EPIC and Cornerstone modules prior to start (approx. 8 hours, non-billable)
• Completion of facility-specific forms including:

  • Adult and Child Abuse Registry Consent
  • Emergency Contact Form
  • Hep B and Pneumonia vaccination declination forms if applicable
  • COVID questionnaire and attestation forms (time sensitive)
  • Auto registration form within 48 hours of signed contract
  • NameTag verification setup
  • Workday Information Attestation
  • Candidate Information Form

Additional Notes

• Orientation sessions held bi-weekly on Mondays
• COVID testing protocol on Day 1 of work may require early arrival and mask-wearing at all times
• Must set up My Chart account to view COVID test results
• Public transportation is not accessible in the area; reliable transportation is essential

This position requires a highly organized and compliant candidate able to meet strict credentialing, immunization, and documentation standards, with flexibility for rotating 12-hour shifts and weekend work.
