Job Opportunity: Infusion Registered Nurse (Travel/Contract)

Location: New Brunswick, New Jersey
Employment Type: Travel/Contract
Contract Length: 13 weeks


Job Description

  • Work in an outpatient clinic infusion setting.
  • Nurse-to-patient ratio approximately 1:6-7.
  • Administer chemotherapy treatments.
  • Use EPIC for charting.
  • May float between multiple outpatient infusion locations as needed.
  • Schedule includes 1 Saturday per month; no Sundays.
  • No block scheduling approved.
  • Scrub color is flexible.
  • First-time travelers are accepted.
  • Local candidates are also welcome.

Required Experience

  • Minimum 1+ years of experience in outpatient infusion or oncology nursing.
  • Chemotherapy certification required.

Required Certifications & Licenses

  • Registered Nurse (RN) license valid in New Jersey.
  • BLS (Basic Life Support) certification.
  • Chemotherapy certification (ONS/ONCC for adults; APHON for pediatrics).
  • ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support) not required for this oncology chemo-certified RN role.
  • IV Certification required for all RNs (except OR specialties).
  • Other certifications may be required depending on assignment specifics.

Schedule

  • 1 Saturday per month.
  • No Sundays.
  • No block scheduling.

Additional Requirements

  • Must complete background checks including criminal, EPLS/GSA/SAM, HHS/OIG, and state-specific exclusions.
  • Drug screening within 30 days of start.
  • Physical exam within the last 12 months confirming ability to perform essential job functions and free of communicable disease.
  • Negative TB test or chest X-ray per facility policy.
  • Influenza vaccination or approved medical/religious exemption required annually.
  • Respirator medical clearance and fit testing required prior to start.
  • Completion of medication and competency exams within 72 hours of signing.
  • Pass/fail testing for pharmacology and EKG competency as applicable.
  • References: 2 references within last 2 years, including at least one managerial reference.
  • Employment application or resume with 7 years of work history required.
  • Skills checklist updated annually.
  • Compliance with facility-specific education and safety acknowledgments.

Requirements/Qualifications

  • Valid Registered Nurse (RN) license in New Jersey
  • Minimum of 1 year infusion experience within the last year
  • Experience in an outpatient setting
  • Oncology nursing experience
  • BLS certification issued by the American Heart Association
  • IV Certification
  • Chemotherapy certification through ONCC or ONS
  • Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) or Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN)
