Job Description

Seeking a Registered Dietitian licensed in Illinois to join a multidisciplinary team. The role requires an independent, critical thinker with strong communication skills who advocates for patients and collaborates with speech pathology and other providers throughout the care process.

Patient diagnoses primarily include cancer with comorbidities such as obesity (breast, colon, prostate populations), diabetes, heart disease, and gastrointestinal complications (including ostomy and IV feedings). Responsibilities include medical nutrition therapy and symptom management. Experience with body composition analysis (In Body 520) is commonly utilized. Support services include interpretation, physical therapy, and social services.


Required Qualifications

  • Valid RDN - Registered Dietitian Nutritionist license in Illinois
  • Minimum of 1 year of experience as an RDN, with experience within the last year
  • Experience working with adult patients
  • Experience in outpatient and clinic settings
  • Proficient in enteral nutrition (tube feedings)
  • Skilled in nutrition therapy for complications
  • Ability to develop nutrition plans of treatment
  • Competent in Nutrition Focused Physical Exam (NFPE)
  • Knowledge and management of protein calorie malnutrition
  • Experience managing refeeding syndrome

  • Calorie counts and fluid balance
  • Food-drug interactions and timing
  • Oral rehydration solutions for high ostomy outputs
  • Total Parenteral Nutrition (TPN)
  • Fluid status assessment
  • Chronic wounds, eating disorders, extensive burns
  • Failure to thrive, fluid/electrolyte requirements
  • Malabsorption syndromes, marasmus, metabolic demands
  • Morbid obesity management

Required Background and Health Documentation

  • Government-issued photo ID
  • Background check within 1 year covering all locations lived/worked/schooled in past 7 years
  • Education verification
  • State-specific healthcare worker registry search (Illinois) as applicable
  • Physical exam within the last 12 months
  • Negative TB test or chest x-ray as required
  • Immunizations or titers for:
    • Measles, Mumps, Rubella (MMR)
    • Tetanus/Diphtheria/Tdap (within 10 years or declination)
    • Hepatitis B (titer, vaccine series, or declination)
    • Varicella (vaccines or positive titer)
  • Negative 10-panel drug screen within 30 days of start (including marijuana)
  • Seasonal flu vaccination or approved medical/religious exemption
  • COVID vaccination or approved exemption
  • Annual skills checklist and competency exams as applicable

Additional Requirements

  • Annual orientation safety manual acknowledgement
  • Medication/pharmacology competency exam as applicable
  • Respirator fit testing and adherence to facial hair policy or approved accommodation
